Kathmandu – The government has called for applications for the position of Vice Chancellor at four Health Science Academies, which are currently vacant. The Vice Chancellor Recommendation Committee has opened applications for B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, Patan Academy of Health Sciences, and Karnali Academy of Health Sciences.
According to the Standards for the Appointment and Nomination of Officials and Members of Public Bodies under the Ministry of Health, 2073, qualified and interested candidates have been invited to apply. Along with the application, candidates must also submit a sealed professional action plan outlining how they intend to operate the institution effectively.
According to the Secretariat, the required qualifications for the Vice Chancellor position differ for each of the four academies. However, experts have suggested that since health science academies are academic institutions, there should be a unified standard ensuring only academically qualified individuals are appointed to the Vice Chancellor positions.
