
Kathmandu — Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Deepak Kumar Sah has been appointed as the Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security. He took the oath of office and secrecy before the President during a special ceremony held at Sheetal Niwas, the President’s Office.
Elected to the House of Representatives from Mahottari–2, Sah, who is also a vision specialist by profession, has an impressive academic background. He has pursued studies as a PhD scholar at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and holds a master’s degree in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing from the London School of Economics.
Additionally, he has completed master’s degrees in Public Health and Optometry from the Institute of Medicine, along with an LLB from Nepal Law Campus. Sah has also gained experience working with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UK Health Security Agency, contributing to policy formulation and health system improvements.
Beyond politics and public service, Sah has been active in promoting Maithili art, language, and literature.
