
Kathmandu — COVID-19 infections are gradually rising again in Nepal, with recent data showing confirmed cases across 31 districts.
According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), a total of 249 cases were confirmed between Poush 17, 2081 and Asar 19, 2082. Notably, 35 new cases were recorded just in the past week, and three additional cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours. One death has been reported during this period, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki stated that health desks at border points, especially those adjoining India, have intensified RDT testing to prevent further spread.
He urged the public to remain cautious by practicing preventive measures such as:
- Wearing face masks
- Washing hands with soap or using hand sanitizer
- Maintaining personal hygiene
The Ministry also recommends that individuals showing symptoms or returning from affected areas self-quarantine or isolate to minimize community transmission.
