Kathmandu, Nepal – Data shows that the number of people with diabetes in Nepal is rapidly increasing. In 2024, it is estimated that around 1.26 million adult Nepalis are affected by diabetes, which is about 7.7% of the total adult population. If timely screening and prevention are not prioritized, the number could nearly double to around 2.4 million by 2050.
Meanwhile, a special program aimed at raising awareness about diabetes is being conducted at the “Nepal Medical Show–2026,” which started today at Bhrikutimandap. At the event, ACCUREX is running a health testing and awareness campaign through stall number A-155.
ACCUREX is providing free blood sugar testing services. Additionally, a 50% discount is being offered on the HbA1c test. The HbA1c test is considered useful for understanding the long-term condition of diabetes, as it shows the average blood sugar level over the past three months. This test does not require fasting.
With the message “Prevention is better than cure,” the campaign encourages citizens to undergo timely health check-ups. The organizers have invited everyone to visit booth A-155 at Bhrikutimandap and take advantage of the services.
