
Gulmi – Three members of a single family in Digamchaur, Musikot Municipality-4 of Gulmi district fell seriously ill after consuming poisonous mushrooms, according to the District Police Office, Gulmi.
The affected individuals have been identified as Phulmaya Kumal (68), Thamman Bahadur Kumal (76), and Geeta Kumal (36).
They had reportedly collected mushrooms from a nearby forest yesterday afternoon and cooked them for a meal. Later that night, they experienced severe symptoms including headaches, dizziness, and vomiting. As their condition worsened, they were urgently referred to Lumbini Medical College in Prabhas, Palpa, police said.
Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution when foraging for wild mushrooms, as many toxic varieties closely resemble edible ones and can cause life-threatening illnesses.
