Nawalparasi – A 40-lakh-rupee Ayurvedic dispensary building constructed in Palhinandan Rural Municipality–4 of West Nawalparasi remains unused two years after its completion. Though the building’s physical construction is complete, it has yet to come into operation, forcing the local Ayurvedic branch to continue providing services from a Nepal Gandak Canal building.
According to Ram Ekbal Yadav from the Ayurvedic dispensary branch, the main structure is complete, but essential technical works and the entrance gate have yet to be finished, making it impossible to begin patient services from the new building.
Palhinandan Rural Municipality, which funded the NPR 4 million project, has stated that steps are being taken to bring the clinic into operation. Chairman Baiju Prasad Gupta confirmed that the operation process is underway.
Due to incomplete technical works in the newly built clinic, treatments are still being conducted from the older Gandak building. Ward Chairperson Ravindra Sahani of Palhinandan–4 stated that preparations are in progress to begin operations at the new facility within this fiscal year. Once the water tank is operational and the entrance gate is installed, the building will be inaugurated and brought into service, Sahani added.
